NOTE: Pics may take a moment to load. The dojo will be developed through the month of December. This photo was taken while the previous tenant (Thurston County Democrats) occupied 506 Columbia St.
This is a photo from the inside out during this same initial time period. We are lucky to have such a nice store front window to allow natural light to permeate what could be a dark space. The uneven concrete slab floor will be covered by a shimmed (unglamorous, but level!) wood floor.
Special thanks to Steve of Christopherson General Contracting for putting in the sub-floor and dressing rooms...they did a great job completing the work and going the extra mile to support the makings of the dojo. Sub-flooring going in...picture from the back.
Picture from front...
Sub-flooring...complete.
The beginning of the dressing rooms...
The early bird workers...mud and fun!
This looks healthy! (Paint fumes anyone?) Over 3 days, the dojo was primed and sprayed with several new coats of white paint...
After the large paint was completed, it was time for detailed work... Mary & Garn
Brandon & Tom
Kuniko working her magic...
Who is laughing now Taylor!!!
A good chunk of our work crew who chose to share time, energy, and resources to create the dojo...thanks all!
