"If You Succumb To The Temptation Of Using Violence In The Struggle, Unborn Generations Will Be The Recipients Of A Long And Desolate Night Of Bitterness, And Your Chief Legacy To The Future Will Be An Endless Reign Of  Meaningless Chaos."

Dr. Martin Luther King

AIKIDO OF OLYMPIA will be sharing the arts of Aikido at this year's Olympia Arts Walk on Friday, April 25th at 5:30pm, 6:30pm, and 7:30pm.  All are welcome to watch and speak with students and teachers about this unique martial art.  Both children and adults will be sharing their practice.  Hope to see you there!

"If you have faith in life, life will respond in kind."  Master Koretoshi Maruyama

About Us

Aikido Of Olympia stems from a  tradition of offering Aikido in Olympia since 1973 when Yoshihiko Hirata Sensei began classes at The Evergreen State College.   We are a small organization seeking to continue sharing the rich arts and practices of Aikido in our community.   While we do ask for payment for services to sustain our location, the true coin of payment is to live out and share the principles of Aikido in our daily lives.  We hope that the tradition of Aikido in Olympia continues long into the future and enhances the quality of life for all.

Please contact us anytime with questions, or visit for more information—Thank you!  We are grateful to once again be serving the Olympia community.

 The Aikido Dojo

The Aikido dojo (meaning ‘place of The Way’), provides a secure and friendly environment where we can begin to see and understand our fears, anxieties, reactions and habits. Aikido training is entirely non-competitive and fosters a cooperative and supportive attitude. The concentration and discipline required for Aikido training brings focus to our daily lives. Aikido challenges us to improve our skills and attempt new things. By achieving these skills, we gain confidence in our ability to maintain stability whenever we encounter difficulty. The first thing you notice about someone is their attitude. If your attitude and thoughts are positive, your life reflects positive results.
